How to contribute to this effort?
Correct and improve the existing documents
You can re-write some parts of existing documents in order
to make these part more clear or to correct mistakes. This
can be done by modifying the source file, or by sending
a mail to the author.
If you plan to change the source file of a document on
this site, please contact the author in order to make sure
he is not working on the part you want to modify. Once the
modifications are done (after the cvs commit), inform the author
and me (see the Contributors section for the addresses),
in order for us to update the web site.
Translate a document
We need translators! If you want to write a new translation
for the FAQ or the manual, go ahead!
The best to do it is to manage your own source file under
the cvs tree (it means less work for me).
Get an account on sourceforge (see the Tools section),
send me a mail so I can add your name to the list of the
allowed developers, download the source files (cvs checkout),
under the doc sub-directory, create a new directory named
by the code of the target language of your translation (two
letters code, the same as the TLD suffixes), and start
translating!
The reference version is always the english one (sounds obvious
but it does not hurt to repeat it).
Write a new document
You want to share a little piece of your great experience with
Sylpheed, you want to write your own "HOWTO"! Fine, go ahead!
First of all, read the Tools section (for a complete
description of the tools we use to write tranform and
publish the documentation), download a template or use any
existing file, write your document and make it available.
To publish your work, you can add and commit your file to
the source of the project (see the sourceforge documentation
regarding this topic), or send me the source file.
