linHDD

This is a hard drive utility with which you can view free space, format any non-mounted drive, run a speed check, see if DMA is set, etc. A screenshot is below:






Nothing you cannot do from the commanline here - but the visual representation is handy, especially if you add a drive and don't really know how it is partitioned . . .   also an easy way for old Windows users to acclimate themselves to the Unix/Linux naming scheme.

You may also notice in the above shot that the "partition" and "format" buttons are greyed out -- because we are looking at a mounted partition.
